Must admit I've been rather slack over this sunny period - mainly because of the lack of formal motor-sport. So slack, even, that I had to re-sign into Blogger (:-o shock horror) because SOMEONE deleted my browsing history. Though luckily I have been heftily upping my web appearances elsewhere - Twitter and Facebook, as well as blog wanderings.Things to comment on:
- Pet Love: Nothing to do with pets, more to do with music and motoring. The BMW Series 1 advertising has hit NZ - in association with The Presets. The latter of which I adore quite much. Subsequently I have web wandered the topic and come across a free download of the remix used for the advert, topical blog comment on the partnership and associated 'hip' advertising pumped out by Beamer:
- "So BMW wants to shill more cars to a market other than the baby boomers and The Presets just want to make something beautiful. How does this kind of marketing benefit either brand really? Call me cynical, but the Newshound can't help but feel that this 'partnership' is approximately one part sell-out and one part cash-in."
Quote: Marketingmag.com.au - Found here on 2 Speed, is another ingenious campaign also for Series 1 -

- Compensating: Boy racers are again ravaging the city of Christchurch. I quite like what they do in the UK to solve this problem - CRUSH 'EM. The cars that is. Not the 'boys' - though I'm sure that would also adequately solve the problem too - there would no longer be any 'chavs' nor any crimes of poor-car-modifying-taste.
- WRC: Is back and pumping, two rounds down - Seb continuing to dominate. It will be interesting to see whether the Ford boys can take a stand against it. Nine of the remaining 10 rounds are on the loose stuff - that traditionally favours the blue oval. Good to see Latvala doing what a 'number two' ought to at Rally Norway - bringing in third and securing the team points.
- NZRC: Just over a month till the festivities kick off with Rally Hawke's Bay, some interesting contenders signing up in some different wheels! Keep your ears out and your eyes peeled.
- I would love to talk about Juno Racing, but apparently I'm not allowed to - So I'll just put this inconspicuous link here and hint that more about the NZ outfit will be up here real soon.
- Recess-ion: Though I wish it was just recess (yay, play lunch!), the global slump has been hitting oh-so-close-to-home over the last month. My heart goes out to all those motor-sport and motorites who have found themselves redundant - both in NZ and abroad.
- Finally, WRC Australia is a go for me, but APRC conquests have been downsized considerably. The aim is to continue chugging along in NZ for this rally season.
- Also, if you're not following me on Twitter, do it! It's the latest fad apparently. For me, it's a way to share things during tech time that hasn't been blocked by the network yet.

Thank you! I'm definately a busy beaver :D
Another great post Sarah, it definitely up to the high standard I have come to expect, Haha.
It strange how the automotive industry has made a Pact with the music industry to "Make some groovy tunes Man......!"
Smashing Pumpkins just launched a song called "FOL" (Feel Our Love) with the new Hyundai's Genesis Coupe. http://tinyurl.com/d5hfp9
Side note: Hyundai now makes a good sports car, scary thought! a sign of the apocalypse?
Thanks Rhys!
I wasted a good 20 mins of my life trying to figure out whether I liked that car, turns out I don't.
But mean ups for the website for it:

Also, another Series 1 ad (from back a while ago mind-you) - this one is the UK version with the Prodigy.
