Ah the silly season. Is it bad that I'm absolutely relishing it this year?Define: In motorsport, the silly season is when late in the current season the rumours start to fly about who is driving for who next season, who is being promoted/demoted, new teams come in and old ones fade out, announcements start to happen and gossip is absolutely rife.
Last year I was still somewhat new to the inside of the sport that has been a part of my life since day one, and so my silly season gossip was somewhat limited to what I could find on the net. But now, my contact list has increased exponentially - as has the amount of series I have a foot in.
Now, having your fingers in many different pies can be very stressful - as I have found out, but it seems to be bearing some kind of fruit. I'm swimming in gossip, piecing it together, and coming out with some interesting findings. I also think I need a new notebook.
But what to do with my wealth of knowledge? I'm unsure.
There isn't that much that you can do with it, except wait, make predictions, and see what happens. Any opinions?
I know I'm over my own metaphors! [Photo has no relevance to post :)]
